The StreamStake bot connects your Twitch chat directly to the platform. Viewers can check balances and see active wagers without leaving chat, and moderators can resolve wagers with a single command.

  • Open Creator Hub → Bot — Head to the Creator Hub and find the Bot section. Follow the on-screen instructions to authorise the bot and connect it to your channel.
  • Enable the bot — Toggle the bot on. It will join your channel as StreamStakeBot and post a confirmation message in chat.
  • Announce to viewers — Let your viewers know they can type !help in chat to see all available commands.

Create a Wager

Wagers are predictions about in-game or stream events. Viewers stake tokens on the outcome they think will happen. When you post a wager before a big moment, your chat becomes invested in the result.

  • Go to Creator Hub → Wagers — Click New Wager to open the creation form.
  • Write a clear question — Example: "Will I ace this round?" or "Do I win this boss fight on the first attempt?" — keep it unambiguous so viewers know exactly what they're betting on.
  • Add outcomes and odds — Add two or more possible outcomes (e.g. Yes / No). Set the odds for each — higher odds mean bigger payouts but imply lower probability.
  • Set a betting window — Choose how long viewers have to place bets before you lock the wager. You can also lock it manually during the stream.
  • Use templates (Premium) — Premium creators can save any wager as a template and reload it in seconds for recurring events.

Open & Close Betting

  • Wager goes live automatically — Once created, your wager is immediately visible on the Wagers page and in chat via the bot. Viewers can start placing bets right away.
  • Announce in stream — Tell your viewers a wager is live. The bot will post a message in chat automatically — or announce it yourself for extra hype.
  • Lock the wager — When the event is about to start (e.g. the round begins), lock the wager from the Creator Hub or have a moderator do it. No further bets are accepted after locking.
  • Betting window timer — If you set a time-limited betting window, it closes automatically. Manual lock overrides the timer at any point.

Resolve a Wager

Resolve the wager immediately after the event concludes — don't keep your viewers waiting. Tokens are distributed to winners as soon as you pick the outcome.

  • Open Creator Hub → Wagers — Find the wager you want to resolve in the list and click Resolve.
  • Select the winning outcome — Choose which outcome actually happened. Confirm your selection — this cannot be undone.
  • Tokens distributed instantly — Winning participants receive their payout immediately based on the odds. The result is posted in the bot chat message.
  • Resolve from Twitch chat — You or a moderator can also resolve from chat: !win [wager_id] [outcome_id]— fast and convenient mid-stream.
6

Add & Manage Moderators

Moderators are trusted community members who can help you manage wagers without needing access to your full account. Ideal for busy streams where you can't always click resolve yourself.

  • Go to Creator Hub → Moderators — Search for a StreamStake user by username and click Add Moderator. The user receives a notification immediately.
  • What moderators can do — Resolve and lock wagers on your behalf — both from the StreamStake site and via the !win bot command in your Twitch chat.
  • What moderators cannot do — Moderators cannot create wagers, edit your profile, access shop management, or change any account settings. Their access is limited to wager resolution only.
  • Remove at any time — Remove a moderator from the same Creators Hub → Moderators tab. Their access is revoked immediately.

Set Up Your Shop & Token Economy

The Shop lets you reward your community with real perks. Viewers spend the tokens they earn from wagers to redeem items — keeping engagement high even outside of live betting moments.

  • Go to Creator Hub → Shop — Click Add Item to create your first shop listing. Give it a name, description, token price, and optional stock limit.
  • Item ideas — Shoutout during stream · Hydrate challenge · Custom Discord role · TTS message · Merch giveaway entry · In-game item · Follow back on Twitch.
  • Manage redemptions — When a viewer redeems an item you get a notification. Mark it as fulfilled once you've delivered the reward.
  • Grant & revoke tokens — Use the Viewer Management section in Creator Hub to manually grant or revoke tokens for a viewer — useful for special events or corrections.

Add the OBS Overlay

Optional

The StreamStake overlay uses two separate OBS browser sources — one for the full-width mini-game banner and one for full-screen effects. Each needs different dimensions and positioning.

  • Source 1 — Mini-Game Banner — URL: streamstaketv.com/overlay/YourUsername?mode=banner. Width 1920, height 250. Position at X: 0, Y: 0 (top-left corner of canvas). Right-click the source in OBS → Transform → Edit Transform to set position to 0,0.
  • Source 2 — Full-Screen Effects — URL: streamstaketv.com/overlay/YourUsername?mode=effects. Width 1920, height 1080 (or 1280×720 for 720p). Position at X: 0, Y: 0 so effect visuals can span the full scene.
  • Enable auto-shutdown on all three — Check "Shutdown source when not visible" on each source so they only run when your scene is active.
  • Mini-game sounds — The banner source plays a unique sound automatically when each mini-game starts. Control volume by appending ?volume=0.8 to your banner URL (0.0 = silent, 1.0 = full, default 1.0).
  • Test it live — Start a mini-game to test the banner source and purchase an effect from the extension to test the full-screen effects source.
